Mr. Thieman, who joined the firm in 2000, specializes in corporate and securities law matters. Mr. Thieman’s practice includes mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, debt transactions and general business counseling, including with respect to securities, commercial agreements, entity formation and corporate governance matters.
Representative Matters
Mr. Thieman has worked for clients spanning a wide range of industries and his representative experience includes:
- Representation of navigation software developer in multiple debt financing arrangements and Series A financing.
- Advised broadband wireless transmission technology developer in a series of preferred stock and debt financings, including a $38 million Series D financing.
- Advised network security software company in its acquisition by a large semiconductor manufacturer.
- Advised memory chip IP company in its acquisition by a public company.
- Representation of real estate construction and investment clients.
- Representation of a broad range of nontechnology and technology based startup companies on initial formation and funding related issues.

Prior Experience
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Thieman played collegiate soccer and professional soccer for D.C. United, a Major League Soccer team during the 1997 season. During law school, Mr. Thieman interned with the office of the Santa Clara County Counsel and the in-house legal department of Amdahl Corporation.
